jim and doug’s grand hotel cape may wedding was a beautiful, blue sky, warm summer day filled with smiles, stylish attire and some fantastic dance moves. since jim and doug don’t live nearby me, we didn’t have a chance to meet in person until the day of the wedding, but from our phone call together months prior, i knew they were going to be chill and great to work with. they had a great flow to the day, a heartfelt rooftop ceremony overlooking the beach and an awesome dance party…
i started with jim and his guys…
if i had those muscles coming at me with suspenders, i’d be a bit apprehensive, too…

my favorite thing about this picture is that no one had any idea that I was actually taking a picture of the woman jumping up and down for her own photo in the background. that’s what makes this photo for me.

each table had a different flag at their table with instructions to raise their flags and come out to the dancefloor once jim, doug and their groomsmen raised their flags. a fun idea that after 13 years of photographing weddings, i’ve never seen!

cupcakes for miles by ‘a piece of cake’. there were so many jim and doug encouraged my assistant and i to take some home. my husband is always hoping there might be a sweet surprise from a wedding waiting for him when he wakes up in the morning. these were a nice surprise for him…
