The current situation has wreaked havoc on the wedding industry, but I’ve always loved intimate weddings so the upside is having the opportunity to shoot more of them in the coming year. Sarah and Matt had an NJ backyard microwedding. Expecting a little one in November, they decided to wed now rather than wait until after the baby is born. They had wonderfully intimate ceremony and reception in their backyard of their New Jersey home. Prior to the ceremony, we took a few portraits at Colonial Park.
The heat was pretty intense, but these two were great spirits about it…
I love the juxtaposition of giggles out of the little one as the girls look bored waiting for the ceremony to start…
Sarah walks down the aisle with her dad…
Love the sweet exchanges that happen during wedding ceremonies…
The wedding ring always take a little time to get used to…
This was his go-to pose for me and each time he did it, I took the picture.
I love the synchronicity of expressions from Sarah and Matt throughout the toasts during their NJ backyard microwedding…
First dance…
Fun with bubbles!
When I observe kids, I often think about at what point do we stop enjoying the simple things like twirling our dress around in the evening sun? Adults need to do more of the simple things that bring joy.
A final dance before I said my goodbyes…It was a pleasure working with Sarah and Matt on their NJ backyard microwedding. Such a lovely intimate event. So glad they were able to have such a special gathering to celebrate their marriage ahead of their little one arriving in November!
