Kimberly and Frankie”s Venue at Winding Hills Golf Club wedding in Montgomery, NY was a wonderful opportunity to photograph back home. I always love a chance to photograph back where I grew up in the Hudson Valley. Kim and Frankie’s wedding was extra close to home as I started coverage at their ceremony at the Church of the Infant Saviour in Pine Bush, NY. It was a part of my own childhood being a place that I passed each day on my way to school and a place that I attended both weddings and funerals for family members. There is something extra special about being back in the place where you and your family have so many roots and memories. Their reception was held at the Venue at Winding Hills which is a great little gem not too far from Pine Bush. I had the pleasant surprise of running into two people I grew up with and having my identical cousin as my assistant!
Kim’s mother was an administrative assistant for my dad decades ago and she has always followed and supported my work throughout the years. I was lucky that she recommended me to Kim and Frank. What an honor to be chosen!

Kim sweetly glances up to Frankie during the wedding ceremony…
…and another sweet glance to her son.
Meanwhile, I got smiles out of this little one!

Husband and wife!
I really enjoyed working with all 3 of Kim and Frankie’s kids. They were all so sweet and kind and easy to work with.
I’m not one to post formal posed pics on my blog. I’m a storyteller and I like focusing in on candid moments. I take the family formals seriously and photograph them with care. Despite my lack of involvement on social media, limited to posting and throwing some support to others with a few minutes of scrolling, the algos have shown me many of Ivette’s posts of her grandson. It was very clear to me she adores him… what was super heart-warming is that during the family photos, her grandson came up to me and specifically requested a picture with just his grandmother. He’s at that age where kids can start getting too cool for us adults. I loved this. I love that he clearly adores his grandmother as much as she does him, so much so, he made an effort to ask me to ensure he got a photo with her.
This photo is a moment.
We had such a beautiful spring day for Kim and Frankie’s Venue at Winding Hills Golf Club wedding…
Love me some laughter during portraits…
The Venue at Winding Hills Golf Club has a great outdoor patio area to have a cocktail hour. The kids certainly enjoyed it.
I love the smiles from the little one sitting in the chair…
I saw my friend John at the church and was like, “What the? What are you doing here?” It’s been a few years since we last saw each other so it was so fun to see him again. We spent several years running and playing in band together. And then… the DJ was another surprise. DJ ErikVargas… I haven’t seen Erik since I graduated high school and we went to school together all the way back to elementary school. And this is why I’m not into social media. I like real connections. It becomes meaningless when I can see what everyone is doing all the time. It is much more meaningful to me when I can have real human interaction. That is a joy that social media can’t replicate.

and performs a dance with her mom….
I love when kids get out and have fun on the dance floor!
Frankie had a cigar in his pocket all day long. At the end of the night when I saw him smoking it, I knew that was his portrait. I love when life circles me back to a place or people in unexpected ways. Who would have ever thought that little girl following her dad along to the office would end up photographing his administrative assistant’s daughter’s wedding one day and that her classmate would be the DJ and her identical cousin would be assisting her. Those are the magical things about life that I enjoy. It is hard to stay closely connected to a lot of people. Life commands a lot out of all of us these days, but I’ve always been a person that treasured my connections, my roots and the way life will bring it all back together at times. What an honor for Ivette to have recommended me and for Kim and Frank to have chosen me for their Venue at Winding Hills Golf Club wedding. It was a pleasure working with everyone!
