i’ll admit that i was a bit nervous when i had to make a call to diana and phil in january to let them know i was expecting and would be 8 months pregnant at their wedding. anyone that has worked with me knows how seriously i take my business, but trying to plan a family and being a wedding photographer is tricky. i didn’t want anyone to be affected, but pregnancy is unpredictable and there was no way for me to guarantee i’d be 100% ok to shoot the day of their wedding and so i had to give a call. when i broke the news i didn’t know what to expect, but diana was gushing with happiness for me! i offered diana and phil the option to break the contract with a full refund if they weren’t comfortable or to stick with me… if they chose to stuck with me, i offered up a professional colleague as a second photographer at no charge in case i was a bit slower or had to step off the job last minute (although all the images posted are ones that i took).
i normally shoot alone, but having no idea what i’d feel like at 8 months pregnant, i was worried my ninja skills would be impaired! diana and phil stuck with me… and i’m so glad they did. turns out i still had some ninja moves left in me at 8 months pregnant. they have been nothing, but supportive and patient and it has meant the world to me. i haven’t had feeling in my fingers for over a month now from pregnancy induced carpal tunnel so it has greatly slowed down my workflow, at times, just not being able to work on the computer and diana has only written me to make sure i’m taking it easy and putting my feet up and watching some good shows on tv! i always say my clients are super awesome… just another example of how awesome they are…my sincerest thanks to diana and phil for all of their patience and support.
(i think i’m actually in labor as i write this)
diana and phil had a beautiful, classic wedding at the park savoy estate on a perfect may day. i was pleasantly surprised by the intensity of phil on the dance floor… sometimes the quiet ones surprise you!
i remember when i was small and sitting under a table was fun. doesn’t work out so well as an adult
adorable!
i love how the design of the couch seemed to mimic the liner of diana’s shoes…hah!
i always say that i truly love capturing the real moments. the things that most people miss or maybe even take for granted. i saw diana’s mom peer up at her daughter with this look and i recognized it. i’ve seen my own mother do this look. it’s a moment where i can tell diana’s mom is really taking in the moment and what it means to see her daughter as a bride and all of the emotions that come rushing in when you realize your baby is taking a big step in her life. these are the moments that keep me shooting.
cutie pies!
i love diana’s classic look… so gorgeous…
diana’s dad sees her as a bride for the first time as her mom watches on…
go time!
phil sees diana for the first time as his bride…
i love to see how little kids are entertaining themselves during ceremonies…
always love laughter during ceremonies…
phil and his sisters, hah… my kinda family photo!
love this!
when i shot diana and phil’s engagement session last year, i got the feeling that phil was a soft-spoken guy. i love when a groom surprises me with his intensity on the dance floor! so much fun capturing all of the dancing….
this was a moment when i knew i still had some ninja moves left in me. phil literally came out of nowhere and broke into the worm. i managed to get the shot, not fall on my butt and phil wow’ed the crowd…
phil’s dad… now you see where phil gets his dance moves from!
hah!
such an amazing time with diana and phil… beautiful weather, beautiful couple and beautiful souls. thank you to todd for coming along and being ready to step in if my situation changed. a big thank you to my husband, brian, for assisting me and making sure i was staying hydrated and taking good care of myself. thank you to diana’s family and friends for their support and a very sincere thank you to diana and phil for being patient and caring more about my well-being then getting their wedding photos!
