for the first time in over 11 years of photographing weddings, i shot a wedding at the same place, the palace at somerset park, two days in a row (and no, i didn’t sleep there). while there were some dance floor similarities (dirty dancing lifts and brides on the floor), each couple is unique and so were their days.
allison and david met while studying abroad in rome. how sweet :o) while he was from chicago and she was from new jersey, they spent some time in different places, some time living in chicago and some time living in new jersey. we met up last fall in hoboken to shoot their engagement session with their ridiculously cute doggy, wrigley. (you should click on the link just to get a glimpse of their adorable pup)
we had beautiful new jersey wedding weather and a dancefloor with tremendous energy!
allison’s mom and sister zip her up while everyone watches on…
allison’s first look with her dad…
love these reactions after allison’s dad saw her as a bride for the first time…
wrigley wrote his own cards to his parents for their wedding day…
the guys suit up at the palace at somerset park…
allison takes a moment to collect herself before she sees david for the first time on their wedding day…
simple and classic…
love this exchange…
ketubah signing!
there was quite the pause before allison appeared behind the doors to walk down the aisle…
although i love the enthusiasm and connection between allison and david’s moms, i think i’m more excited by the mini bottles of fireball that they are both holding onto, hah!
party time!
making a video of themselves or facetiming grandma? i’m not sure.
the hora!
and then i got punched in the face… (sarcasm)
it’s easier to bust a move while wearing chuck taylors…
toasts!
weird angle, fun moment…
two nights in a row at the palace and two nights in a row of brides voluntarily being on the floor. my brides know how to party…
and.. two nights of dirty dancing lifts…
even david’s mom did one!
on the floor again?love this shot of david’s parents as they watch allison and david dance to the last song…
