Kristen and Brendan were together a very long time before their Bear Brook Valley June wedding day. They met in high school and had been waiting a very long time for this day. When Kristen first reached out to me she talked about her 4 pups and how she wanted them to be a part of the day. Being such an animal lover, I instantly relate to anyone that feels the need to bring up their animals in one of their first emails to me. Although, they weren’t able to figure out the logistics of bringing 4 pups to their Bear Brook Valley June wedding day, they did make an appearance in their own way….
Once again.. like on repeat for the season so far, I was really happy that the weather held out for Kristen and Brendan. It’s been such a rainy season and Bear Brook Valley really lends itself to being outdoors for pictures, ceremony and cocktail hour….
The guys got ready in the Woodford Lounge…
Brendan looking handsome…
The ladies got ready in Bear Brook Valley’s Silo Suite…
This little guy told me he was enjoying the comfort of the bathrobe…
Kristen’s twin sister steams the bridesmaid dresses…
Kristen looking stunning…
Just as we were close to finishing up some portraits, Kristen got attacked by biting ants! I have to tell you.. I am so happy that my clients are as awesome as they are because so many brides would have totally lost it. While me, my assistant, the videographer and bridal attendant rushed in to help immediately, Kristen took it all in stride and remained relatively calm for a bride being bit by a ton of tiny ants on her wedding day. This has never happened before at Bear Brook Valley… I’ve shot there winter, spring, fall and summer and I’m sure it is being taken care of so don’t anyone go freaking out. It’s nature! Definitely made for an interesting and abrupt end to portraits though!
Headed to the waterfall after the ant situation was remedied to start up some family and bridal party photos…Kristen and Brendan got engaged by a waterfall in Costa Rica so we had to work it in!
She was not having it… she was not willing to be on the grass at that point in time. As a mother of a child just one week older than this little one, all I could do was laugh. I love that look as she sticks to her guns about the grass situation!
I think this is where she really wanted to be…
I love family portrait outtakes…
Ceremony time!
Brendan watches as Kristen starts to make her way to the ceremony site…
It was really sweet to watch the intensity between Kristen and Brendan during the ceremony. I love when a couple is so connected and present during the wedding ceremony. I try to capture that connection through my imagery and at this particular moment, it felt as though they felt there was nothing or no one else around them and I wanted to create that in an image…
I love a good flower confetti pop exit!
It’s a crowd pleaser…
Party time!
This crowd was ready to dance!
I love how little kids just do their own thing…
Bear Brook Valley on a June wedding night…
I love when the joy emanates off of a couple’s face while together after many years of marriage…
Although Kristen and Brendan’s dogs couldn’t make it to the wedding… they were there as adorable cut-outs. People took pics with them all night in the photo booth!
It was such a joy to watch Kristen and Brendan finally celebrate their big day after so many years together and a very long engagement. A perfect day, a great party and so much love for their Bear Brook Valley June wedding day. Thanks so Kelsey Davis for assisting me.
