while i did not get to meet boston residents, christie and brian, until the day of their berkeley oceanfront hotel wedding in asbury park, new jersey, i knew it would be a fun-filled day! i love late fall weddings before the chill of winter sets in and the gatherings for the holidays begin. i also love shooting in asbury park. in my 11 years in new jersey, i’ve watched asbury park make a comeback and become a popular place to wed. it’s great to see the town doing so well. although brian grew up in massachusetts, christie is a new jersey native and so they decided to have their wedding in new jersey… and you can’t get more iconic new jersey than asbury park.
love the smiles…
the groomsmen got ready in the spacious suite where johnny cash wrote his memoirs…
fun and games…
i have wedding ring balancing skills.
not a typical detail for a wedding day. i received a phone call on my way to christie and brian’s wedding from the maid of honor letting me know that the engagement ring had been lost on the beach. a little heads-up so i didn’t ask for the ring to photograph. by the time i got there, one of the bridal party members had managed to arranged to meet up with someone from craigslist to buy a metal detector and the ring had been found!
cutie pie…
buttons, lots of buttons…
don’t you just love the neckline of christie’s dress?
succulents are one wedding trend i can get behind.
usually during a first look i prefer there not to be randoids in the background, but this little old man looked too happy to watch this moment so i decided to make him a part of it instead…
love this…
this.
rooftop randomness…
i love the moment when the mother of the groom looks back to watch her son watch his bride walk down the aisle…
do we have the rings?? hah.
i call this… ‘hustle and bustle’
i’ve had a lot of dirty dancing lifts this year, but this one takes the cake for height!
party time!
adorbs!
these guys know how to party…
