Rain or shine was the plan for Shanna and Greg’s Fort Tyron Park engagement session in New York City. I love when photographing takes me to a place I’ve never been or even realized existed. I had never been to Fort Tyron Park in New York City. It’s great little gem. The rain held out, but so did the sun… and I could even see my breath! What the heck?!? Regardless, we had a lovely session walking around the park. Hopefully, I will not be able to see my breath on their June wedding day at Bear Brook Valley next year, hah.
At a location very close to the highest point in Manhattan, Fort Tyron Park has some great exposed rock formations…
The flowers were legit that pink!
We didn’t have any sunshine to work with, but a cloudy day presents other opportunities for images… Usually by May, cold noses aren’t a thing… but this has been an odd spring with chilly weather…
Pretty cool spot when you consider the Henry Hudson Parkway is just down below next to this arch…
Normally, I don’t do dark and moody shots because I like to keep things bright and happy. But given the cloudy and foggy conditions, it was difficult to see the George Washington Bridge. As I was setting my exposures, I noticed Shanna and Greg just hugging into each other for a second and I grabbed this shot because I like the idea of that moment as a silhouette against the foggy backdrop…
This spring has required some up to the minute decisions about sessions because of the unpredictable and changing weather! Had a great time meeting up with Shanna and Greg for their Fort Tyron Park engagement session and discovering a new place I hadn’t ever been to. Looking forward to their Bear Brook Valley wedding next summer.
