kelsey started assisting me and worked with me on some jobs until i lost her for a couple of years to college. of course, i was happy to see her pursue her education and assistants move on… but when she let me know she was moving back to the area a couple years later and was available to work, i was happy to have her back and re-connect with her. i’ve watched her grow into a strong, confident woman. we’ve had lots of deep conversations about life. she watched my daughter when she was just a baby (my daughter loooovvvees her). i’ve watched her change directions in her life and one of them was when she started dating james. i knew james was different and likely around for the long haul so when he reached out to me months ago to tell me wanted my help in surprising her with a proposal, i was so happy for them both. you can see the proposal story here.
kelsey and james came over to my house this winter and we photographed in my backyard. we only had to call the state police once, hah, but it was a lovely little session with these two…
so many people avoid winter engagement sessions, but the winter can create a really beautiful monochromatic backdrop. plus, you get to wear flannel and cute scarves… so thankful for all of the hard work that kelsey has put in with me over the years. i know my couples have enjoyed working with her as well. also, so thankful for the friendship she has given me over these past few years. happy to see these two join together!
