jamie and tom’s lake mohawk country club wedding in sparta, new jersey took place at the very end of fall which is one of my favorite times of year to photograph! although we had a cloudy day, the rain held out, and the light fog across the lake made for an even more beautiful setting for their wedding. we had a chance to meet up in the early spring for their hoboken engagement session.
while the ladies were upstairs busy with the hustle and bustle of hair and make-up, the guys were hanging out playing pool and drinking beer. i had fun bouncing between jamie and tom (and climbing lots of flights of stairs to do it, hah!)…
tom got ready quietly with his best man…
i always appreciate a bit of quiet and simplicity on a wedding day…
a little close-up of tom’s suit. he loved it so much, he told me he was never, ever taking it off… loving how awesome all of my groom’s attire was this year…
i love this pic of the girls heading back upstairs after a pic of them together outside in their floral robes…
that dress though…
gorgeous!
moments after jamie and tom’s first look on the lake mohawk boardwalk…
a little bit of color pop left from the end of fall…
my favorite moments are the most true, unposed moments…
i love how tom is peeking at jamie…
love the navy blue bridesmaid dresses…
…they go so well with the blue suit jackets of the groomsmen…
i love this viewpoint just as jamie walked out onto the boardwalk for her lake mohawk country club wedding ceremony…
tom starts to choke up as he sees jamie. if you’re ever wavering about doing a first look, i can tell you i’ve seen many grooms tear up as their bride walks down the aisle despite spending a couple hours with them ahead of time…
i love the layers of this image of everyone in a moment of remembrance for tom’s mom…
blue suits were totally a thing in 2017…
too many great expressions during jamie and tom’s first dance…
i love to make pretty pictures just like any other wedding photographer, but there is so much more to photographing a wedding than just pretty pictures- being able to catch the subtle glances and expressions in a beautiful light is what really drives me. i know that when my clients look back at their photos in years to come, it is these moments i captured that will really tell their story…
toast time!
party time!
wedding cake smash love!
hah!
lol. this photo pretty much sums up sparkler exits for me. i’m pretty sure i’ve made the same face tom is making at almost every one i’ve photographed as intoxicated people wave sticks of fire at me, hah!
a great day with jamie, tom and their friends and family for their beautiful lake mohawk country club wedding. the rain held out, the dress was like whoa, the suit was too good to ever be taken off and the laughter was real! thanks to kelsey davis for assisting me (climbing all those steps).
