new jersey shore candid family photography | rebecca, rickard, elsa & miriam

rebecca, rickard, elsa & miriam came all the way from sweden for their new jersey shore candid family photography session at asbury park. i made sure to reserve the entire beach and some of my trained seagulls for the day. while i didn’t plan on the most intense fog i’ve ever photographed in, it certainly presented a beautiful feel to the images. it was super fun keeping up with these spirited girls as they enjoyed the wide open space and the waves rolling in…

love elsa’s spirit… i’m not a fan of contriving images. it takes the magic out of it all for me. i love to capture truly genuine moments like elsa kicking up the water in pure joy…

while it might tire parents out a bit, i love the chaos and unpredictability of a candid family session with little kids…

when you try to get one photo with everyone looking, but your kids are having too much fun for the boring sit still and look at the camera stuff…

in selfie-saturated world, i love a little girl still willing to get in the face of my camera without a care in the world about angles, hair, etc…

when rebecca first reached out to me about new jersey shore candid family photography, she gave me such a wonderful compliment on my work. she said that, ‘your spirit shines through the camera into people’s eyes’. what an absolutely amazing feeling to be able get another person to feel so much by looking at my images. i always say that i’m not interested in being world famous or published all around the world- i just want to capture stories, feelings, happiness and the beauty of each and every person that comes in front of my lens. i had such a fantastic time with rebecca, rickard, elsa and miriam. i hope these images evoke how palpable their love, joy and spirits are.
