The forecast for Sara and David’s winter Tribeca 360 wedding was calling for a lot of snow! Winter weddings can be quite exciting because we never really know what kind of weather we might have. It could be in the 50’s or -10 with a wind chill, we could have a state of emergency with snow or have a bright sunny day. For Sara and David’s Tribeca 360 wedding, it ended up not snowing at all! Not even a flurry! The weather was chilly, but not unbearable and some rain in the evening made for a fun nighttime rooftop photo op.
I originally worked with Sara when she was a bridesmaid for Julie and Brian’s Stone House wedding almost three years ago. Since Julie and Brian are such awesome people, I knew Sara and David would be as well. Like I say, awesome people hang out with other awesome people…
I started with the guys and their pink ties…
A little help from Dad…
Love that David chose bold blue hues for his wedding day…
Super cool invites done by Sara’s bridesmaid Lauren of FXA Calligraphy…
I know everyone is obsessed with fancy hangers for wedding days, but honestly, I love this. Weddings have become so stylized and commoditized that even hangers are a money-maker for the industry. I love the pop of turquoise against the pink hues and I love that it is just real. Don’t be afraid to let your wedding be real and be you!
when pregnancy gets in the way of being a bridesmaid, you get to attend via FaceTime…
So lovely working with Julie again…
Gorgeous!
David watches as Sara begins her walk down the long aisle of St. Ignatius Loyola Church…
I’ve never seen so many people look forward toward the groom as the bride is walking down the aisle…
So picturesque…
St. Ignatius was a bit limiting about where I was allowed to photograph from during the ceremony, but I used my ninja moves to create some diversity in the images despite the limitations.
Love laughter during a wedding ceremony…
…And I love a good yawn :o)
I always love little exchanges between the couple during a wedding ceremony…
Sara and David were willing to be whisked away for the last 20 minutes or so of daylight…
New York City is a funny place to photograph weddings. You get the New Yorkers that are too cool and too busy to even notice a bride and groom and then you get the ones that will yell out, “Congratulations!”… and usually, those are tourists, hah.
Love…
Love the amazing colors of the bridesmaid dresses…
…And loving the blue suit trend for grooms and groomsmen.
Grand Central is where you really see the tourists come out in full force. Endless photobombing and trying to take a picture with a phone while standing in my way. That is also where you see my real New York upbringing come out in me as after 15 years of photographing weddings, my patience is thin for photo bombers when I am pressed for time like on a wedding day. So advice to anyone visiting New York, don’t photobomb a couple’s wedding day!
First dance at Tribeca 360….
Love all the emotion in this hug with Sara’s sister…
Josh Greyson provided the entertainment…
Hah!
Such a pleasure to see Julie and Brian and her parents again!
I appreciate when someone has this much enthusiasm over taking a photo!
And when you can’t make it to the wedding, your friends bring you on a stick and have you dance all night…
Sweet Caroline!
Such a fantastic day with Sara and David and their friends and family at their Tribeca 360 wedding. Always great to see my former couples again as well. Thanks to my assistant, Kelsey Davis, for helping with the day.
