Shawn and Bryce celebrated their Brant Beach Yacht Club wedding on LBI in New Jersey with friends and family from both the East and West coasts. Shawn, a native of the East Coast, spent summers at LBI while Bryce grew up in California. Both Shawn and Bryce work in the creative fields and so it is always an honor when other creatives want to work with me. They put together a wonderful experience for their friends and family and I love how they incorporated their son and dog. If you can handle a toddler and a dog around you in your wedding dress, then you are my kind of bride!
I love this first photo that shows the happy chaos of photographing with a toddler and a dog and Shawn never once worried about their pup jumping up on her dress…when you keep a chill vibe for your wedding day, you have the best wedding day!
I started out with Bryce getting ready…
You don’t have to have an official bridal party to have friends help you out and be an important part of your day…
A little finesse during Bryce’s portrait…
I have a disclaimer that I will never ask a group to jump, hah, but if they want to, I’ll always ask them to do it more than once :o). Look at these guys– they nailed it– everyone in the air at once!
The inscription on their rings read…. ‘Adventure Partner’…
If you have your kid and your dog at your prep, they are probably going to win all the spots on my blog and I’m not sorry about that… Juno is such a sweet pup!
As everyone was waiting for Shawn for the ceremony, Miles and Bryce were chillin’ together….
Shawn and Bryce held their ceremony at the Pearl Street Pavilion in Beach Haven on LBI. Miles heads down the aisle..
Look at the way Bryce lit up while watching Miles walk down the aisle at the Pearl Street Pavilion…
Love this expression out of Shawn’s mom…
For some brides, this arrival at the altar would be a nightmare, but for Shawn there was so much joy. If this is you as a bride, reach out to me because this is the most fantastic way to be on your wedding day!
The Pearl Street Pavilion on LBI is a great little spot for a wedding ceremony…
My trained seagulls have been on strike for years so I was happy they were willing to work with me again if only for a few seconds…
Not everyone is interested in your wedding ceremony…
Miles was chillin’ and watching the ocean during the ceremony…
But he did check out his dad while he was saying his vows to his mom…
Everyone is all about the wedding kiss, but I really love the wedding embrace…
And this exit… love the chaos!
We took some photos on the beach in Beach Haven with Miles and Juno…
This is such a short-lived activity you can enjoy in your life… soak it up, Miles!
As I started to photograph just Shawn and Bryce, Miles made another visit. Instead of stressing out, everyone just went with it. Props to my assistant, Brandan, for keeping an eye on Miles for a few minutes while I focused on Shawn and Bryce. He probably didn’t realize watching little ones was part of the job…
Seven adorable flower girls and good luck getting that perfect picture, but to me, these are perfect. Kids aren’t meant to stand all uniform in a line, they like to be free and move and enjoy the moment. I like to let them do that. The little one in front had just woken up and wasn’t appreciating the moment as much…
The reason I love weddings is the opportunity to tell a story candidly and to capture precious moments without people even realizing it… look at that loving connection with dad and adoration of mom…
Shawn and Bryce’s Brant Beach Yacht Club wedding reception started with an outdoor cocktail hour, outdoor first dance and parent dances and some outdoor toasts…and a Yacht Rock playlist. I find that most people either love Yacht Rock or hate it. I’ve loved it since I was a kid before it was even called Yacht Rock. Props to Dj Iron Mike for putting together a fantastic playlist…
Party time… and this crowd was ready to party!
Is it really a Jersey wedding if ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ didn’t happen? Shawn and Bryce’s Brant Beach Yacht Club wedding on LBI in New Jersey was a fantastic day filled with lots of love and laughter and happy moments of chaos with a chill vibe. I’m so happy Shawn and Bryce entrusted me with telling the story of the LBI wedding day. Thanks to Brandan Calhoun for assisting and going above and beyond looking out for Miles.
