For Sarah and Dan’s fantastic Gallery at Liberty Prime wedding we started with portraits at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. When it comes to photography, I really encourage my couples to think about what matters most to them and many of my couples have opted to reduce the coverage of their preps or start with portraits sometimes without the first look and I’m always happy to collaborate with couples on what works best for them and matters most to them. I’ve always been someone who has thought for myself and I encourage my couples to not fall victim to all of the wedding pressure that is out there and do what they want when it comes to their day. Sarah and Dad did just that.
It was a beautiful fall day to take pictures at Liberty State Park…
Sarah and Dan pulled off a very elegant look…
Truth be told, we only had a couple of minutes to grab this shot… not too shabby!
A little guest busies herself in the aisle prior to the ceremony…
I love kids-being-kids photos. If only the kids knew how special this time is, how little judgement there is and how free they are!
Fist bumps along the way…
The Gallery at Liberty Prime is a beautiful space in Jersey City for an indoor wedding ceremony…
Love this little moment…
Dan checks out the ring!
The moment before the moment…
Guests enjoyed some music during cocktail hour…
Sarah and Dan share their first dance at their Gallery at Liberty Prime wedding…
Party time at the Gallery at Liberty Prime!
This picture cracks me up because it’s an example of how a picture can lie– I caught Dan in this really intense moment where it almost looks like he is frightening Sarah’s grandmother a bit, but the reality is, it was just a slightly off moment for Sarah’s grandmother who was out there dancing among the intensity and wasn’t the least bit intimidated! So let this be a reminder that in this world where so many share images of their lives– pictures can lie :o) (although this did capture Dan’s intensity on the dancefloor!)
The dance floor started to get intense…messes were made…
messes were cleaned up while dancing…
and a couple minutes of mop limbo happened…
I’ve been on plenty of intense dance floors in my nearly two decades of photographing weddings, but this one got pretty insane by this point. These guys were all much taller than me and very into the moment, but I like to get right in there despite the fact that there are risks. I like to think it is a testament to my ninja skills that I managed to avoid having myself or my equipment damaged.
I love how it looks like the guy in the back is using magic to life the tie up… Beautiful weather, a great venue and food and an intense dance party! Thanks to Sarah, Dan, their family and friends for a great Gallery at Liberty Prime wedding in Jersey City. Thanks to Brandan Calhoun for assisting me.
