When Stefanie reached out to me about her intimate Monday summer backyard NJ wedding less than two weeks before the date, I was really excited. 1.) I love intimate weddings. There is something so sweet about a very simple and intimate wedding ceremony. 2.) Stefanie and Andrew live in my town, Frenchtown, so it was super awesome to be right in my own neighborhood. Stefanie and Andrew decided that they just wanted to have their four boys and two witnesses right in their own backyard at their new house where Andrew had proposed with all of the boys around and where the two families have come together as one. I spent less than two hours with them, but I really loved being able to tell the story of their celebration. There is always a story to be told even with shorter, quieter events.
Getting yourselves and four boys ready at once is always an adventure…
Stefanie gets ready as her son Michael is busy running around and entertaining everyone…
I love the unpredictability of kids. While the boys were getting ready, Michael put his Captain America action figure right into my frame. A little surprise, as I wasn’t expecting to see this dude pop into my line of sight, but I love how this image captures the chaos of getting a bunch of kids dressed and Michael’s willingness to grab the camera’s attention— he wasn’t camera shy at all!
Life with small children is a lot of tears and laughter and tears and laughter and tears and laugher… it’s just how it goes. I like capturing the season of life that this is.

I love how seriously each one of the boys took the sand ceremony…

Love the outtakes…
Pictures of people all looking forward and smiling at the camera have their place, but I enjoy pictures like this which really capture more of a story and will serve as a reminder of what trying to get four little boys to all do something at the same time really looks like. As time moves on, we can forget these little things and I like to provides images that will really help bring people back to a certain time and place…
A few pics of Stefanie and Andrew…
