emily and tom’s misty bear brook valley wedding did not disappoint. although i’ve photographed weddings at bear brook valley on super bright sunny days and overcast days, this was my first misty day there. emily and tom were still up for a first look outside with umbrellas and it turned out to be a super cute first look. there are plenty of things you can plan on your wedding day, but when the day comes, you have to just go with it. although keeping my cameras out of the rain and keeping emily and tom dry was a bit of a challenge, i think it was worth the trip outside! and when your bride isn’t a fan of having her picture taken (i can completely relate!), i am extra thankful for the wedding day willingness to go for it!
hah!
i love synchronicity in a pic…
the guys generally have a lot of time to hang around on the wedding day, consequently, they have time to do things like play pool inside the woodford lounge on this misty bear brook valley wedding day…
something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…
love this ‘something blue’…
michelle elise artistry’s team working on emily’s hair and makeup…
pretty stoked that this awesome moment won an award from the wedding photojournalist association…
i pretty much live in flip flops and running shoes, but i spend a lot of time photographing fancy shoes like emily’s badgley mischkas…
emily looking gorgeous…
if i can get someone that doesn’t enjoy having their photo taken to smile this much, i must be doing something right…
my first and only first look with umbrellas and i love the way it came out…
out of the rain for a quieter portrait…

tom takes it old school. respect.
just a few days before emily and tom’s bear brook valley wedding, emily’s grandparents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. 70 years! my husband and I would have to live to 108 and 105, respectively, to reach that milestone! these two were gliding all over the dancefloor!
synchronicity…
hank lane music provided the entertainment…
this photo is totally messing with my head! there is no photoshop here, no in camera tricks. i shot this photo the way i shoot any other photo, but i cannot figure out how I managed to make the man on the left so abnormally large while the woman in the center looks like she was reduced in size and poorly photoshopped into the image. if anyone can explain this illusion to me- please do! i have taken hundreds of thousands of wedding images and i have never seen this before.
while one of emily’s nieces hides from the camera, the other gives me the greatest, happiest smile ever!
this misty bear brook valley wedding day gave me a quick opportunity to grab a night shot when the light rain relented in the evening…
treat yo self! emily’s dad got bear brook valleys donut station for his grandkids. lucky kids!
love beer, love life. yup.
second bear brook valley wedding in a row where I found a little girl sleeping…

You do so much more than take pictures. The details and emotion are captivating to me. ((I am just a little obsessed with your work!))
