Abby and Christian’s Nevius Street Bridge and Cafe Emilia NJ intimate wedding was such a lovely combination of meaning and uniqueness. As I’ve made a career in this industry for nearly two decades, I’ve been able to watch different trends come and go. I’ve really enjoyed that many people are now thinking outside of the box when it comes to weddings and they are willing to do things differently… whether that means venues/locations that aren’t traditional wedding spots, more intimate weddings, letting go of many traditions like bridal parties…. I’m really seeing people doing things more their own way and they are all turning out to be wonderful events.
Abby and Christian were so excited to be married. It has been a season of rainouts (none for me though because I have an amazing weather angel up there) and their wedding weekend was not immune to the threat of rain. Being married on the Nevius Street Bridge was very important and meaningful to Abby and Christian, but if rain came through, it wasn’t going to work. I really wasn’t worried because I knew it’d work out and, ultimately, they kept a cool head about things because in the end it was all about being married— that is, and should be, the biggest celebration of the day. The threat of rain started to decrease for the day and the small chance turned into the sun peeking out just as they were exchanging rings and about to officially be announced husband and wife! After their beautiful ceremony on the Nevius Street Bridge in Somerset County NJ, everyone headed to Cafe Emilia in Bridgewater for an intimate reception.

Abby looked so beautiful in her dress made by The Cotton Bride and I knew how excited she was to be married to Christian that my eyes welled up when she walked down the aisle because I could feel all of the joy…

I love this picture because there is always a relief after the wedding ceremony when everything went well and you’re officially married and now it is time to bask in the first moments of being husband and wife and you can see all the joy emanating off of these two here…
After their Nevius Street Bridge wedding ceremony they headed to Cafe Emilia in Bridgewater for their intimate NJ wedding celebration…Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour out on the patio.

Amazing duet!
A song for the kids as a fantastic sweet finale to their intimate NJ wedding reception… I was so happy for Abby and Christian as their excitement and desire to be married was so clear from our first conversation together. While intimate weddings are easier to plan in some ways, they can also involve more difficult logistics when doing things differently. Abby and Christian were happy to listen to my advice around timing and the setup on the bridge and all the other useful wedding information I have and it resulted in a perfect day for them. Their Nevius Street Bridge and Cafe Emilia intimate wedding reception will go down as my first marriage that happened on a bridge.
