when kate reached out to me about her ryland inn coach house summer wedding she wanted to make sure i was cool as i seemed online. turns out, i am (at least in her book– and since she is super cool, i take that as a great compliment). i’m a no-bs kind of person. i love to make genuine connections with couples so i can tell their stories with not just my eyes, but with my heart. kate and soma quickly picked up on this during our first meeting. with kate and soma in the air force and stationed in colorado, we had a chance to skype, but not meet until the day of their wedding celebration. since kate and soma had officially married a few months before they were planning a chill summer wedding reception nearby soma’s hometown at the ryland inn. the crazy thing is that they were in a bad car accident the night before their wedding and spent many hours in the er. in this pic below, i joked that soma was taking a little nap as he laid his head down on kate’s shoulder. he responded by saying he was, ‘a little concussed’. funny. not funny.
the last half of the summer was a hot one! soma and the groomsmen were hanging out by the pool when i showed up…

the nice thing about a ryland inn coach house summer wedding is you can enjoy the nighttime fresh air outside on the beautiful patio…a little bit different than the snowy winter wedding i photographed here in december
