even my third grade teacher agreed that i had a good mom…
(an actual entry from my third grade school journal)
“september 23, 1987
i wish i could have pizza for dinner. i love pizza. but my mom does not like us to eat pizza alot. she says once a week is okay. i love rice and pizza.
i like rice with salt and butter.”
although, this entry does leave me with a couple of questions…
is it ever too early to correct children on the proper spelling of ‘a lot’?
why was my teacher encouraging my use of the word ‘pizza’ by circling it and labeling it with an ‘excellent’ when i used it in 4 out of 6 sentences?
happy mother’s day to the best momma in the land!

No. It is never too early to teach a child that a lot is two words. I noticed the same thing! I was wondering about the pizza thing too – were you practicing cursive? Maybe it was the nice way you wrote the word!
