It has been several years since I last had an opportunity to photograph a wedding at The Manor in New Jersey, so I was happy to get back there for Meredith and Dave’s late Fall wedding. I always find it a great compliment when someone that is really into photography chooses me for their wedding. I love that Dave enjoys and appreciates the art of photography and knows the challenges that go into the art. Meredith and Dave had a lovely outdoor wedding ceremony and a fantastic dance party.

The struggle is real…
I love these little gestures…. a father fixing his son’s hair, but what makes my heart smile is that you can see the smile on Dave’s face. Those are the small things I find so delightful. It doesn’t matter how old we get, we still smile when our parents take care of us…

It’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of the ‘dress hanging’ photo. You spend so much money to get the dress fitted to your body and you wear it all day, I’ve never understood the concept of hanging it on a hanger for a picture, but of course it is a photo I do get requested to take. This time, I wanted to take the image because I loved the lines of the staircase and the unusual line of the ceiling. I knew it would make for an interesting composition and Meredith had the kind of dress that would work well for this image…
